About Dr Ratnayake

Dr Manuprabha (Manu) Ratnayake graduated from University of Melbourne and completed Fellowship training as a Specialist, obtaining the fellowship (FRACP) in Queensland.

Dr Ratnayake is a General Physician, with a passion for comprehensive, whole patient-management. His special interest areas are cardiovascular health, diabetes (type 1 and 2), assessment and management of dizziness, fainting palpitations and similar symptoms, metabolic symdrome, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular risk factors and peri-operative medical problems. Through his work in both public and private health systems in Australia and New Zealand, he has gained extensive experience in a wide range of health conditions. 

Dr Ratnayake believes the best outcomes result from the patient’s understanding the nature of the health issue in depth, choosing the best treatment options that are individualised to the patient and the patient's active participation in decision-making and management. 

Dr Ratnayake commenced work in private practice at St Andrew’s Toowoomba in May 2013 and relocated to the current location of Specialist Medicine Toowoomba Suite 12, St. Vincent’s Hospital, 22-36 Scott Street, Toowoomba in March 2017. 

Dr Ratnayake provides inpatient care to patients at both St. Vincent’s Private Hospital and St. Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital, Outpatient consultation for new patients referred by General Practioners and follow up consultation for patients discharger from his inpatient care.

  • Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery, University of Melbourne, Australia.
